Confessions & a Helpful Realisation for Everyone | Emerson Bailey Photography | Costa Blanca Wedding

First of all sorry i haven't posted for a while it has all been a little crazy and I have been working on a few personal projects that you will find out about in the future!

Anyway Today I thought I would make some confessions and share what is on my mind! Oreos. I love Oreos! I really really like Oreos! And the problem with that is when I have them I don't like to share, I mean I will sit and eat an entire packet and more if they are there and that's not a good thing. So if the situation were to arise where I had the opportunity to sell my brother for a packet, I would be able to make the right decision. Sorry that this sounds out of place but I'm blonde and a creative so my mind jumps around when I'm thinking!

The second thing I wanted to talk about was kind of a realisation I have had and I'm a little embarrassed about it but I'm trying to get over it! The realisation is that once upon a time (way before I was born) photography was a profession and few people had cameras. Now everyone has a camera and the ability to take amazing shots, which Is a GREAT thing! Here comes the realisation : everyone is a photographer wether you have an iPhone, dads old point and shoot, granddads old 35mm film slr or a modern DSLR and everything in between!

The point is its easy to get weighed down with what everybody else is doing, how they are editing, how people might be copying ideas ( another recent realisation there is virtually nothing original left, but that's a different topic for another day), what they are charging, shooting, buying , GAS( Gear. Acquisition. Syndrome). The list goes on and on and on.

I have realised that there is no reason to care at all about what everyone else is doing , what they've bought because it really doesn't matter. So to misquote a song " Frankly my dear I don't give a damn" . Because I was wasting too much energy worrying about things that didn't matter and were prohibiting me from doing what I wants to do & from being A better Person and a better photographer!
